CONSIDERING ADOPTION?Dear Adopting Parent: Hope for Families is honored to be associated with American Adoptions, which is one of the most professional and largest domestic adoption agencies in the United States. I want to tell you why Lynn and I have decided to link with this, our sister agency. We have helped approximately 1,000 families with their adoptions, and in all of our extensive experience, it is our professional opinion that American Adoptions is the very best domestic adoption agency for many reasons. Over the last five years, everyone that Lynn and I have referred who has adopted through American Adoptions, has been absolutely delighted with their compassionate and professional service, as they quickly were able to adopt a healthy baby. Each year, American Adoptions place more than 300 healthy newborns in the loving arms of adopting parents from all over the United States. The greatest frustration for adopting families is the long waiting time before ever receiving a referral of a birth mother or baby. All they seem to do is wait and wait, and then wait some more sometimes for two or three years. Long waits at American Adoptions are definitely the exception: waiting time estimates average 3-18 months. In fact, the last several families that we have recommended to American Adoptions had their baby home in less than six months. We have already visited them and seen their child to begin post placements! Simply stated, no agency in our experience is faster at completing adoptions than American Adoptions. The major risk inherent to domestic adoption is that birth mothers are legally allowed to change their mind until they sign the relinquishment paperwork. Birth mothers do change their minds before signing their intent to adopt, which can create emotional trauma for everyone involved. One of the most amazing things to us is that American Adoptions has the best adoption completion ratio in the United States, with higher than 90 percent of their birth mothers maintaining their decision. This, we believe, is due to two factors. One, before matching with a family, the counselor explores carefully with the birth mother what she really feels is the best choice for her baby. If it is adoption, then she will proceed with matching with a family. Secondly, they focus on building an adoption plan around the birth mother's needs so she feels really good about her adoption plan. Other agencies we have encountered, and cannot recommend, have a 30 percent or higher failure rate. In adoption, the other concern for most families is the expense. American Adoptions fees are reasonable and are completely ethical in all aspects of the adoption. Their fees are at the mid-range of prices, and openly list and include all fees so that there are no surprises later. Ultimately, American Adoptions' fees are lower than many agencies. Even in the event of a birth mother decides to parent, American Adoptions continues to work with the adopting parents with no extra agency costs until an adoption is finalized, and without any time restriction or limitations. Most other agencies only take their clients on for a year then charge a renewal fee, and also add costs in the event of an adoption failure. If you feel that your heart is leading you to build your family by adopting a new born baby in the United States, Lynn and I highly recommend American Adoptions to you. We have faith in their integrity and passion for adoption, and believe that they can help you, too. It is our prayer that you will receive this ultimate blessing of children!
